1779 Maritime Flag Sticker

This 4x3 sticker is an image of the original 1779 Maritime Flag that is featured in the MHS exhibition, Pathways to Freedom: Maine Stories of the American Revolution.  

In 1777, the Continental Army officially adopted the familiar thirteen stars arranged in a circle on a blue field, accompanied by thirteen stripes—representing the thirteen colonies battling for independence.
